McFatty Monday

>> Monday, March 15, 2010

McFatty March continues! I am quite proud that in two weeks I have lost six pounds. In that two weeks I have went on a vacation to DC that involved over eating and over consumption, and completely ditched the diet last Saturday and dived into Mexican Chips like nobody's business. . That popped me back up four (okay almost five!) pounds that I have already lost. It was kind of discouraging because if I hadn't been so bad in DC I would be down almost 11 pounds. But it was worth it.

One of the biggest things that seems to be helping me is the branching out in foods. I am not a big seafood eater but over the last few weeks I have really been trying to loosen that up and try some new things. We have started eating Mahi Mahi a lot and last night we had shrimp. On Friday night I tried scallops and I have some Tilapia in the freezer to make this week. This helps so much! Fish is so lean and low cal. It is packed with protien so a little goes a long way. If I cheat a little one day I always eat fish or a salad for dinner. It kind of evens out the playing field! I hate fishy fish so all these are not fishy. I promise. They are more....light fluffy chicken? It is hard to explain. But the point is that branching out is a good thing!

It is really warming up so I would like to keep up with walking more. I love this spring weather. Although not so much this spring forward time change. I am pretty sure that hour was latched onto my soul. Which would explain why I am dragging today.

McFatty March? I mean Monday....

>> Monday, March 01, 2010

Okay for real this time...no really. Michael and I have officially started our diet...again.

I feel like a broken record. Every week it is like this Monday I am hitting it strong. But I am for sure serious this time. No I PROMISE!

We made a pact Friday to devour every bad piece of food in the house by today. Avoid temptation at all cost right? That involved a lot of girl scout cookies, a 9x13 lasgna, a frozen pizza, and some random animal crackers. All are gone. And they were all yummy :)

But we are serious as of today. It is officaily noon on Monday of the begining of McFatty March and I have not cheated once. Four hours down....seven hundred and forty to go. Okay that didn't make me feel better.

30 Day Shred I am going to kick your arse tonight. Be prepared.

McFatty Monday Week 5

>> Tuesday, February 02, 2010

One day late! Sorry....I mean in snowed in NC! The city shuts down as does McFatty Monday.

Whhhooohhhooo
I lost two pounds. That is impressive after being snowed in and eating pizza for an entire weekend! Why do we always crash and burn on the weekends. If I had the will power I exhibit during the week on the weekends I would be a size 2. Okay a size 10...but who is counting. Seriously the weekends kill me.

As does the Papa Johns they just opened next to my house. Stephaine, you do not have to make up for five years of not having Papa Johns in the first month it is open. I promise it will still be there when you are twenty pounds lighter.

I even exercised twice this week. Now I know you are like twice? Seriously she is excited about that? What a loser. I sit on my arse all week! This is an accomplishment for me. Most days I am too tired to watch TV on the couch and I just go upstairs to pass out. So WHATEVER!! I am pumped.

Now my goal was to exercise way more than that. But small steps, small steps. I am getting there.

I increased my water a lot this past week. A lot. I am limiting my soda (so only three a day-ha!) and chugging water the rest of the day. My goal is to have one soda in the morning and then switch to water all day until I get home. That is a compromise, right? I can't give up EVERYTHING I LOVE!

I got what everyone is raving about this week. I have heard such good things about this video so I got suckered in. Even better I suckered Michael into the doing it with me. Just the thought of Michael and I jamming out to this in our living room makes me giggle.
But he said he would do it for me. To keep me motivated. He already plays basketball a few times a week and I am suppose to be walking at lunch but the weather has not been cooperating. I am going to continue to walk a few times a week and try to do this at least three times a week.
We decided we would do it as soon as we put Lily to bed. It is only twenty minutes. If we can get her in bed by 8pm, do the video, we can be fat, plump, and happy on the couch by 8:30pm just in time to watch an 8 o'clock show on DVR commercial free.
That is my goal this week and to drink a lot more water. My new "strawwed" cup is helping with that. I notice I double my water intake if I drink it through a straw. Why is that?
Sounds like a good plan huh? Well you know what they say about plans.....

I don't feel like I did that well this week but I did lose the pound I gained! Who hoo!

I generally just wanted to snack all week! I wanted crunchy, sweet, salty, basically anything I could get my hands on. But you know what the lesson learned this week was? If it ain't in the house you can't eat it. If you ain't got no money to go out to eat you won't be tempted!

Hey those are valuable lessons!

I started this week off so good. But I ended the week on a failure. That failure? Three boxes of Girl Scout cookies. They didn't make it through the weekend....and they were opened on Friday.

:SIGH:

And I was so good all week. ALL WEEK! I brought my lunch, ate like an all star. The damn weekends kill me. So I gained a pound.

But I do have some brighter news...

I have been to the grocery store twice and used my bags both times. SUCCESS!

I have been sticking to my new budget hard core. Very impressive.

So although this week was a fail mainly do to those nasty girl scouts, they are the devil, I did do some good.

McFatty Monday...you mean I have to give up BEER?

>> Monday, January 04, 2010

But alas it is another new year. Last year Michael and I wowed friends and family with our South Beach Success. Michael lost 50 pounds and I lost about 35 pounds. Whereas I am still at my prebaby weight with the help of the diet...all the weight I lost beyond that is sitting nicely on my arse. I have been very successful with South Beach in the past. After the first two weeks of mental reset the diet is easy and gives good results. The cooking is reasonably compared to what I do now just less to no pasta. I recommend it to anyone wanting to start losing weight. It is how I lost my baby weight. And in about three months once I started the diet when Lily was nine months old. You know the 55 POUNDS I gained with Lily. Wow it is hard to believe I carried that around. It is how I got out of the 16 jean and slid into a 12 for the first time since my freshman year. It is how I started feeling normal again after my body exploded from child birth and although the scales say the same number the body does not agree. Now I am a jiggly mess that only some plastic surgery can rectify.

So I am begining McFatty Mondays as seen on http://theheirtoblair.com/ as of this Monday, aka TODAY!

What are the reasons for the recent weight gain? Where do I begin. Let's see I want to take you back to July when I spent ten glorious days in Europe with my ultra hot hubby. I mean I was in Europe! I couldn't diet in EUROPE! But honestly we didn't gain that much back on the trip. I think it was the walking.

But then we return and what is right around the corner? Eadsfest 2009. Yes our annual Beer Olympics. You know the one my husband made me TRAIN for every night in our garage after Lily was sound asleep for a MONTH. The one that my husband yelled at me about when I didn't want to finish the twelve pack chugging contest. Yes that is the one.

Hey I did walk away a champion of Eadsfest. But I seem to be carrying a keg around since...on my gut. Is anyone surprised this is my husbands fault? Or the beer's fault? Or just my fault for having a low tolerance post baby. I think that is actually a bonus when not involved in a beer Olympics.

But this isn't a blame game. It is a motivation game. So as of today I restarted my SBD with a goal of losing twenty five pounds in 2010 as my large goal. But my realistic goal is ten to fifteen pounds by summer. That will get me down to my lowest last year and lowest post baby. Heck lowest in awhile and back into the 12 jeans sitting down because right now those jeans are only made for walking....

If only you could see the Chicken and steamed broccoli in front of me now.....yum

Oh and guess what is right around the corner...Eadsfest 2010. An effort in futility.
