S&1% my Kid says

Lily has definitely become quite the chip off the old block.  Just a few conversations from the past few weeks

Over Breakfast
Lily: Mommy....I don't like it
Mommy: Well I don't like it either!
Lily: NO MOMMY YOU NO TELL ME I TELL YOU!!!!

Wow.  I don't know who that sounds like.

During a Chargers game
Mommy: WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT...THE RECEIVER IS BLIND!
Lily: MOMMY! THAT'S ENOUGH. FOR GOODNESS SAKES!

Mirror Mirror on the wall.

Playing outside
Lily: Mommy it's a butt!
:giggling and points to stuffed bunny's butt:

Vote for my green bird feeder on Impact Dash!

>> Sunday, September 19, 2010

I know you guys think I haven't been writing but I have. Just not here recently. Check out a few of my latest pieces on my Baby Steps column over on Impact Dash.

A Greener Kids Party-based off Meg's Baby Shower over the summer
A Cloth Diapering Panel-with the help of my Chi Omega Sisters we discuss Cloth diapering and why not to be scared.

Most importantly take a moment to vote for the bird house I so diligently worked on. Only to be slaughtered by a bunch of triplets. Pity votes are welcome.

A Milk Carton Bird Feeder-aka me getting my assed kicked.

Enjoy!

Elizabeth "Libby" Elaine Alden

We had a new baby join our group over the weekend. Libby was born on September 3, 2010. We made it up to visit them on Monday and got a good dose of baby lovies. While I was there I took a few pictures for them. I know how overwhelming parenthood is the first few days/weeks/months and one thing I always regreted was not getting some brand new baby shots. Libby is only four days on in these pictures. The perfect age for these kind of photos.
I waited until after she ate so she would pass out and be asleep in all these photos but apparently she didn't get the memo. Everyone knows when Aunt Steph is around there is a party right? So she stayed full wide awake the whole time. But it ended up working out. This just proves they are just as cute awake as they are asleep!

Mommy and Baby. So happy.

Meg requested a shot of the "swirlie"

Baby Feet
This cuteness serioulsy makes me want another one....uh oh.

Meg's friend made Libby this hat which was the highlight of the day! The color was so precious.

My favorite of the day...
We love you baby Libby!

Jealous Much?

My dear friends Meg and Craig had  baby Libby this past weekend and we went to visit them on Monday. I wanted to take a few pictures for them as a special treat. Meg always loved this Nicole Faby picture so I tried by best to reinact it on Libby's bookshelf. Lily was being so sweet and queit while I snapped away.
But as I moved into the other room to snap some different shots I heard a giggle from Libby's grandma in the nursery. This is what I found......

Jealous much?

This may single handledly prove I cannot have another child. Apparently it was Lily's turn for some attention.

Today...

Lily played Mommy and "put Mommy to bed" today. This included a tucking in with my childhood blanket and the sweetest good night kiss. But what night time routine would be complete without several rounds of "He's got the whole world in his hands." Which including having Little baby Lily, Mommy and Daddy, Mimi and Paw, Tanya and Wayne, and little cousin Morgan in his hands. Complete sweetness. She stood at the end of my bed and belted out the verses with pride. Enough to make any Mommy proud.
